3D SOFTWARE Report this article as Inappropriate to us !!!Login to Reply

I am a "new-bee" at 3D CG. Although I am an artist, I would like to develop my skills, but I don't know what software is available. Is there a good freeware, shareware program?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Wings3d is free and easy to learn. Blender is also free but is harder to learn. Try both. Good luck.

I use Wings 3d for almost all of my modeling. It does take a little getting used to (what program doesn't?), but I find it works really well once you figure out how the different commands work.

Wings3d, PovRay, I think TruSpace is still available.  Art of Illusion, Blender, Anim8tor.  Essential, PoseRay for file format converstion.  Posing commercial figures, Daz|Studio from DAZ.  Blender is powerful, but learning curve is very long, interface is confusing.

Lo price, under thirty bucks, Daz sells a book, included a DVD with quite a lot on it, Daz|Studio, Cararra, Hexagon, I think Bryce, but maybe not. Good investment if you can get on with them.
