Top Media Company Selects Adobe Premiere Pro to Develop Advanced Tapeless News Editing Solutions
SAN JOSE, Calif. & AMSTERDAM — (BUSINESS WIRE) — September 9, 2009 — At the 2009 IBC tradeshow, Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq: ADBE) today announced that Hearst Television has chosen Adobe video production solutions to develop and deliver a next-generation, tapeless solution for generating newscasts. By leveraging Adobe’s cross-platform video editing tools, including Adobe® Premiere® Pro CS4 software, Hearst TV can advance the speed, quality and efficiency of its newsroom video production editing solutions, deployed in over 25 television stations throughout the U.S.

Faster Newsroom Production
Hearst Television owns and operates over 25 television stations in the U.S., including 12 ABC and 10 NBC affiliates catering to diverse markets. Combined, these stations reach more than 20 million households, making it one of America’s largest television groups.
Hearst Television and Adobe will be working to integrate video production in Adobe Creative Suite® 4 Production Premium software with Hearst’s newsroom control system, ENPS, which coordinates scripts, rundowns and playout servers to orchestrate each newscast. Integration of Adobe tools with ENPS will allow editors to seamlessly edit and deliver finished news packages back to ENPS.
In an effort to improve the speed of video production in the mission-critical newsroom environment, Hearst Television is moving to a tapeless news environment using file based cameras. Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 software offers true native support for tapeless formats to help Hearst get stories on-air in minutes, without the delays associated with transcoding and re-wrapping files.
