Doug Walker is President of Alias, a wholly owned, independent software subsidiary of Silicon Graphics, Inc. Mr. Walker provides leadership and direction for all aspects of Alias worldwide.
Prior to Mr. Walker's appointment as President, he was Vice President of worldwide field operations and marketing at Alias responsible for sales, channels, and marketing. Doug transferred to this role in July 1998, after serving as president and chief executive officer for the Canadian operations of Silicon Graphics.
Before joining Silicon Graphics as Western Canada Branch Manager in 1994, he was a District Manager for Sun Microsystems of Canada Limited. Previously, he served as the Western Canada Manager for Prime Computer of Canada Limited. Early in his career, Mr. Walker was employed with IBM Canada Limited.
In 2003, Mr. Walker accepted Alias.s Oscar statuette for Scientific and Technical Achievement which was presented to the company in recognition of its Maya 3D software. Sheridan College, an Ontario based world renown animation institution, awarded Mr. Walker an honorary degree in 2002 in recognition of his extraordinary contribution to the field of animation in Canada and internationally. He is a long-standing board member of Smart Toronto and is also on the advisory councils of several colleges and universities in Canada.
